Deserving Winner; Arshad
I admit to hating everything about Pakistan, its food, people, politics, cricketers and religion. I even hate the colour of their flag. But for the first time, this man compelled me to change my viewpoint.
When we as a nation have a massive government program, ‘Khelo India Khelo,’ the government goes all the way to train and support our athletes. Brands Chopra, an unknown athlete from Pakistan, had to seek support on social media for a new javelin.
Do you know led money to send him to Paris? With no support, ursued his dream one throw of his, got Pakistan a hem ahead of India in the medal tally. He was part of a seven- member contingent.
While the players in our country blame everything on the government, lack of coaches to practise and funds, maybe it’s time to learn something from this young man.
If you did not watch his throw, Google it. It was composed, in control, and precise. There was no grunt, no falling on the floor, no extra effort. His throw was flowing stream. Hats off to this who should inspire every athlete, especially the ones who are cribbing over 100 gms.
Neeraj. but this time, your contemporary stole the show. ArshadNadeem, I salute your perseverance, resilience and self-belief.
